 A massive clear air bolt lets rip on a powerful evening thunderstorm in Mackay Australia on the 20th January 2015. This storm developed in 3500-4000 CAPE after finally breaking the horrendous cap.

It doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s truly beautiful . . . in order for snow to cling to trees the day after a storm, the snow must be somewhat wet and there can be no wind . . . add blue skies and sun to those conditions and you end up with dazzling snowscapes! Ledyard CT, New England USA
